ARA represents agricultural retailers and distributors across the country — the businesses that supply America’s farmers and ranchers with seed, nutrients, crop protection products, feed, equipment, technology, and other critical services.

With ARA’s addition, the coalition has expanded to include the Alliance for Chemical Distribution, American Chemistry Council, American Farm Bureau Federation, BNSF, Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, CPKC, National Industrial Transportation League, Teamsters Rail Conference, Vinyl Institute, and a growing cross section of agriculture, manufacturing, energy, labor, and transportation stakeholders.

Together, these groups are warning that the UP–NS merger would reduce competition, weaken service reliability, and raise shipping costs across large portions of the U.S. economy.

As the Surface Transportation Board reviews this application, STRMC will continue working to make clear: this deal is bad for shippers, workers, consumers, and America’s supply chain.
